Abstract

"In this brief report we examine whether or how the duration of the asylum procedure and the current asylum status affect labor market integration of refugees. Particularly due to the legal restrictions on labor market access during the asylum procedure negative effects may be expected. In addition to these direct effects on labor market integration, however, there are also indirect effects, for example through investments in the German language, which are also analyzed here."
