Wie nah am Arbeitsmarkt sind die Arbeitslosen? (Arbeitslosenuntersuchung, Teil II)

Abstract

In einer computerunterstützten telefonischen Befragung von rund 20000 Arbeitslosen und ehemals Arbeitslosen wurden Anfang 2000 Angaben zu den Suchaktivitäten und der Erwerbsorientierung der Arbeitslosen erhoben und Erkenntnisse über die Beendigung der Arbeitslosigkeit gewonnen. Um festzustellen, wie nah die Arbeitslosen am Arbeitsmarkt sind, analysiert der Beitrag die Motive, die mit der Arbeitslosmeldung verbunden sind, und die Intensität der Beschäftigungssuche. Es zeigt sich, dass über 60 % der Arbeitslosen sehr arbeitsmarktnah sind, da sie mit großem Engagement Arbeit suchen. Rund 20 % suchen nur mit mittlerer oder geringer Intensität. Die mangelnde Initiative ist dabei häufig auf eine bereits länger andauernde Arbeitslosigkeit zurückzuführen. Weitere knapp 20 % sind ohne klare Orientierung oder übergangsorientiert (z.B. bevorstehender Übergang in Rente). Diese Gruppe ist nur noch schwer aktivierbar. (IAB)
