Abstract

Plus que jamais, la confiance est partout dans le débat public : « personne de confiance », « école de la confiance », « société de confiance », etc. Mais, trop souvent, la confiance est incomprise et instrumentalisée.Comment appréhender l'importance de cette notion complexe dans le système économique, social, politique, médiatique ? Quelles en sont les différentes définitions et les diverses formes ? Peut-on vraiment mesurer la confiance et, si oui, comment ? Quels en sont les causes supposées et les effets attendus ? Quel est l'état véritable de la confiance en France ?En répondant à toutes ces questions à la lumière des auteurs classiques et des travaux les plus contemporains, cet ouvrage veut autant informer et instruire les lecteurs que les mettre en garde : la confiance, clé de la coopération sociale, n'est ni bonne en soi ni bonne à tout. Elle ne permet ni de tout comprendre ni de tout régler dans les sociétés humaines et dans les économies. Comme il y a de bonnes et de mauvaises confiances, il y en a de bons et de mauvais usages.
