Abstract

Délégués du personnel, élus au comité d'entreprise ou au CHSCT, délégués syndicaux… La France compte plus d'un demi-million de représentants du personnel. Si l'on pointe volontiers un dialogue social défaillant dans ce pays, on peut s'étonner du manque d'études consacrées à ses principaux acteurs. Que sait-on des motivations, du travail mené pour informer et défendre les autres salariés, ou encore de l'évolution de carrière des représentants du personnel ? Comment sont-ils perçus par leurs collègues et leurs employeurs ? Sont-ils discriminés ? À partir de sources statistiques très riches mais rarement exploitées, cet ouvrage dresse pour la première fois un panorama de l'activité des représentants du personnel. Il montre que le cadre légal dans lequel ils s'inscrivent, inadapté, tend trop souvent à opposer représentants, salariés et employeurs, et propose des solutions pour que les intérêts des salariés soient mieux représentés, sans craintes, au cours des négociations comme dans la vie quotidienne des entreprises.
