Abstract

Le modèle néoclassique " standard " du marché du travail le représente comme un lieu où une offre et une demande de travail homogènes s'ajustent grâce à un prix flexible, le salaire. Dans le sillage de l'économie des conventions, Guillemette de Larquier met en évidence l'importance de modes de coordination alternatifs à la régulation marchande. Loin d'être une variable permettant l'égalisation de l'offre et de la demande de travail, le salaire apparaît plutôt comme le résultat de règles élaborées, juridiques et/ou contractuelles. De la même façon, offreurs et demandeurs de travail ne se coordonnent pas simplement par le signal du prix : complexes, les procédures de recrutement renvoient à des conventions de qualité du travail, c'est-à-dire à des modes d'évaluation implicites de ce que constitue une bonne relation d'emploi.
