Abstract

La Polynésie française ne pourra pas espérer de la sortie de la crise mondiale, sans réformes profondes, une relance de la croissance. Cet article montre comment les nombreux mécanismes de protection de l'économie et l'absence de dispositifs destinés à promouvoir la concurrence modifient les incitations des agents économiques et des investisseurs potentiels et éloignent les équilibres de marché de leurs résultats optimaux. La Polynésie souffre en fait d'une mauvaise gouvernance globale de son système économique qui obère sa capacité à renouer avec la croissance. L'ensemble de cette gouvernance doit donc être revue pour espérer rétablir les conditions du développement, ce qui implique une réduction de l'interventionnisme des pouvoirs publics dans la vie économique et une recherche de son efficacité.
