    On se propose de décrire les changements notables qui se sont produits dans la régulation monétaire en Algérie depuis le début des années 90. Le détour par l'héritage volontariste qui a résulté de la trajectoire économique des années 70 et 80 permet de mettre en évidence les continuités et les ruptures survenues dans la configuration de la forme institutionnelle qu'est la " monnaie ", notamment dans ses composantes relatives à l'offre de monnaie et du crédit.
