Abstract

Une grande partie des citadins des villes de l'Afrique subsaharienne subit au quotidien des difficultés pour satisfaire les besoins de mobilité, notamment pour des activités loin du domicile. L'objectif de cette communication est d'analyser les conditions de déplacements des citadins dans l'accès aux services de santé et de déterminer dans quelle mesure le transport représente un obstacle pour se faire soigner et améliorer la formation de capital humain. Notre démarche s'appuie notamment sur des analyses secondaires d'enquêtes quantitatives et d'entretiens réalisés en 2003 à Conakry et Douala dans le cadre d'une étude sur la mobilité et les conditions d'accès aux équipements des populations pauvres. Les résultats montrent que les problèmes d'accessibilité ne représentent pas l'un des premiers obstacles pour l'accès à la santé, mais viennent s'ajouter aux déficiences propres au secteur.
