Abstract

L'article analyse les facteurs qui influencent le maintien des agriculteurs en agriculture biologique (AB), basée sur une enquête menée auprès de 1371 agriculteurs bio du Grand Est. Les principaux facteurs non-monétaires favorables au maintien en AB sont : la confiance dans les institutions agricoles, l'appartenance à des réseaux professionnels, et la consommation personnelle de produits labellisés ‘AB'. À l'inverse, les contraintes économiques, les difficultés réglementaires et le manque de débouchés freinent la poursuite en AB. L'étude recommande d'allier incitations financières et sociales, de renforcer les réseaux agricoles, de repenser les politiques territoriales et d'améliorer la communication institutionnelle pour soutenir durablement l'AB.
