Abstract

The question of responsibility is linked in economics to the emergence of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) movement. This movement reflects a profound shift in the regulation of capitalism from a macro process driven by nation-states, to a process of joint regulation based on empowerment of the actors. Among the many questions that this shift raises, the article emphasises the institutional prerequisites for the implementation of genuine CSR, the role of socioeconomic theory in bringing them to light, and the political action that this "institutional construction" of the stakeholders demands.
