Abstract

Blockchain is identified as one of the most promising technologies for improving the functioning, transparency and sustainability of supply chains (SC). Several retailers have experimented with its installation in their supply networks to assess its potential. Paradoxically, while blockchain is said to be an asset to improve the end-to-end coordination of SCs, the governance issues it raises also seem to be the most challenging to solve. We thus propose an integrative framework of blockchain governance to assess the state of research on its application to SCs and to propose promising research avenues.
