La gloire et la rue. Les chanteurs ambulants et l'édition musicale dans l'entre-deux-guerres

Abstract

L'article montre comment le changement dans le mode de production de la musique a transformé la fonction des musiciens de rue, ou musiciens ambulants. Dans la période charnière de l'entre-deux-guerres, l'édition musicale est un marché important, et la vente d'imprimés de chansons (nommés "petits formats", parfois abusivement) une source de revenus importants pour les éditeurs de musique. Le disque, la radio et la radio, marchés émergents, sont alors un relais pour les éditeurs, et les chanteurs ambulants, en vendant dans les rues les "formats de propagande" qui leur sont réservés, contribuent activement à la promotion de ce marché.
