Abstract

Au Cameroun la banane plantain joue un rôle important dans l'alimentation de la population. Si la demande, en rapport avec la pression démographique, est appelée à augmenter, l'offre qui se localise sur les fronts pionniers des zones forestières reste incertaine. Il apparaît nécessaire d'envisager une sédentarisation de la production par intensification des systèmes de production. Néanmoins les conditions de viabilité économique d'un tel processus doivent être précisées.
