GenDis: zur Bereitstellung gesellschaftlich notwendiger Dienstleistungen in Deutschlands Regionen – Clusteranalyse zur Untersuchung regionaler Infrastrukturen

Abstract

Wie steht es um das regionale Angebot der Dienstleistungen, die für unsere Gesellschaft besonders notwendig sind? In Bezug auf diese Frage vergleicht diese Studie die Infrastruktur der gesellschaftlich notwendigen Dienstleistungen in Deutschlands Regionen mittels einer Clusteranalyse, um regionale Disparitäten aufzudecken. Es treten Unterschiede hervor: Verschiedene Stärken und Schwächen kennzeichnen die regionalen Cluster und keines weist ein in allen Belangen gutes Profil auf. Die weiteren Ergebnisse legen eine Koinzidenz der Bereitstellung gesellschaftlich notwendiger Dienstleistungen mit der wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung in Regionen nahe. Die südniedersächsische Fokusregion rund um Göttingen ist ein Bespiel einer ungünstigen Konstellation: Im Bereich der gesellschaftlich notwendigen Dienstleistungen zählt sie zu der Gruppe an Regionen, die nur eine mäßige Versorgung bieten und auch was die Wirtschaft angeht, liegt eine unterdurchschnittliche Entwicklung vor.
