Abstract

" Objective - This qualitative study investigates the lived experience of a spinal gunshot survivor, focusing on the interplay of faith and resilience in his healing journey. Using narrative inquiry, the research highlights faith as a vital source of strength, comfort, and meaning-making in the aftermath of trauma. Methodology - Guided by McAdams' Life Story Interview and thematic analysis, four themes emerged: divine providence in healing, building strength from faith, the value of social support, and finding purpose in adversity. These themes illustrate resilience as a dynamic, multifaceted process involving cognitive reframing, emotional regulation, social connection, and spiritual meaning-making. Findings - The participant's story also reflects post-traumatic growth, demonstrating how profound adversity can catalyze positive psychological transformation. Novelty - Findings underscore the importance of integrating spiritual, psychological, and relational support in holistic rehabilitation programs. Implications for healthcare providers and trauma counselors, as well as directions for future research, are discussed. Type of Paper - Review"
