La relación entre la minería y la pobreza de la región Cusco en el periodo 2007-2018

Abstract

En la región Cusco, el desarrollo de la minería evidencia una evolución favorable en los últimos diez años proporcionando y creando oportunidades de bienestar y una relación positiva con el desarrollo económico y social. Basado en ello, este estudio tiene como objetivo determinar la correlación y no la causalidad, entre la minería y el desarrollo socioeconómico, tomando como proxy de la primera, a la transferencia del canon y regalías mineras (aporte minero) y, como proxy del segundo, la pobreza en dicha región. Cabe destacar que, a pesar de la importancia que tiene la actividad minera en el Perú, en la revisión documental se evidenció que la cantidad de trabajos de investigación a nivel de la región del Cusco no fueron tan abundantes. En cuanto a su metodología, se trata de una investigación aplicada, de nivel descriptivo-correlacional y diseño no-experimental de tipo retrospectivo-longitudinal. Las unidades de análisis son las provincias y distritos de la región, para las cuales se recopiló información pública del INEI, del Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas (MEF), del Ministerio de Energía y Minas (MINEM).
