Tournoi, promotion et revelation des motivations

Abstract

Le modele est constitue d'un tournoi entre deux employes d'une organisation hierarchique. Ces deux employes, initialement dans le meme poste, sont places en competition et celui qui realise le niveau de production le plus eleve obtient une promotion dans un poste, appele poste superieur. Les deux employes ne possedent pas la meme capacite a exercer dans le poste superieur; ils evaluent ainsi differemment la perspective d'une promotion en fonction du cout a l'effort qu'ils anticipent ressentir dans le poste superieur. Ce tournoi aboutit a la selection du travailleur le plus capable pour exercer dans le poste offert a la promotion et permet ainsi de nuancer la critique de Peter qui prevoit une selection inefficace a l'issu d'un tel type de tournoi. Le tournoi, considere ici, permet, a l'occasion d'une promotion, de reveler la motivation des agents; notion essentielle a la bonne marche de l'entreprise.
