Brecha salarial de género en Costa Rica: una desigualdad persistente

Abstract

A pesar de los avances registrados en las últimas décadas, las brechas de género son una realidad en Costa Rica y representan una forma de desigualdad arraigada en la sociedad. Este documento evalúa —mediante la descomposición Oaxaca-Blinder— la discriminación salarial por motivo de género en el mercado laboral costarricense entre 2001 y 2019, período caracterizado por un fuerte aumento de la presencia de empresas multinacionales en el país que habría contribuido a mejorar las oportunidades de inserción laboral de las mujeres y la calidad de los empleos a los que tienen acceso.
