Medición multidimensional de la pobreza infantil: una revisión de sus principales componentes teóricos, metodológicos y estadísticos

Abstract

Este documento es uno de los productos del proyecto de la iniciativa sobre pobreza infantil, desigualdad y ciudadanía en América Latina y el Caribe, que desarrollan en conjunto la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) y la Oficina Regional para América Latina y el Caribe del Fondo de las Naciones Unidas para la Infancia (UNICEF). Su objetivo es dar a conocer un análisis comparativo de diversos estudios nacionales e internacionales en que se aborda la pobreza infantil con métodos multidimensionales, que sea de utilidad para los países que aún no han desarrollado dichas mediciones en el marco del seguimiento de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), así como para aquellos que ya cuentan con alguna versión de tales mediciones, y favorecer la discusión sobre la posibilidad de construir metodologías comunes para realizar un monitoreo regional de los avances en la reducción de la magnitud y la intensidad de este grave problema.
