Crescimento Económico no Pós-guerra: os Casos de Espanha, Portugal e Irlanda

Os vinte e quatro anos que se seguiram ao fim da II Guerra Mundial constituíram a fase de maior crescimento europeu desde sempre. Se os países da Península Ibérica, neutrais em relação ao conflito e governados por regimes ditatoriais, também participaram no movimento de crescimento, convergindo em relação ao mundo desenvolvido, a Irlanda, também ela neutral mas democrática, não conseguiu acompanhar o ritmo do resto da Europa, não convergindo em relação aos países mais desenvolvidos. Após 1973, com os choques do petróleo, o movimento de crescimento sofre um revés na Europa mas é a partir de 1985 que a Irlanda apresenta taxas de crescimento mais elevadas. São revistas, numa perspectiva de história económica, as principais implicações do ambiente institucional, das decisões e das estratégias políticas e económicas para o crescimento destes três países, bem como as suas causas e explicações possíveis para trajectórias distintas.
