Le grand mal-être des universitaires

Abstract

Cette note examine la vague 2024 du Baromètre de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la recherche de la CPESR. En France, les chercheurs et enseignants-chercheurs déclarent une satisfaction de vie inférieure à celle des autres diplômés du supérieur, notamment en début de carrière où les contrats temporaires pèsent sur le moral. Un écart de satisfaction apparaît entre les enseignants-chercheurs et les chercheurs sans obligation d’enseignement. Les disciplines scientifiques (STEM) affichent un niveau de bien-être plus élevé que les lettres et sciences humaines ou la santé, et un plus fort sentiment de valorisation par la société. Des différences apparaissent aussi selon le genre, les femmes exprimant plus de doutes sur leur capacité à poursuivre jusqu’à la retraite. Malgré ces constats, les universitaires gardent un niveau de confiance interpersonnelle relativement élevé.
