Abstract

This paper aims to clarify the main raison why the passage Particularis de Computis et Scripturis appeared in the mathematical work of Luca Pacioli: La Summa. As this work was a commercial arithmetic, history of such works in Islamic and European dimension of mathematics and practical use of mathematics in these societies were investigated.
