Abstract

ABSTRACT A descriptive overview is presented of the environment inhabited by minors (0 - 17) in the Valle del Cauca department (except Cali). This has been constructed based on indicators which give an idea of the risks associated with landslides, flooding, avalanches, and the possibility of access to public services in the minors’ place of residence, together with their situation regarding attendance to schools and access to health services. These indicators are obtained from statistical information gathered from the data base of the new SISBEN 2004 survey carried out by the Valle del Cauca Governor’s office.
