Abstract

This technical note describes the process and decisions made to identify Ph.D. economists in the internal OPM data used in the LEHD infrastructure and match them to the main LEHD data. It includes documentation of the programs used to create the output for Foster et. al. (2020) and a case study looking more closely at economists at the Census Bureau compared with external data available from FedScope.
