Antecedentes Históricos de la Deuda Colombiana. El Proceso de Moratoria Formal Sobre la Deuda Externa entre 1931 y 1935

Abstract

La moratoria sobre la deuda externa de Colombia en la cuarta década del siglo XX, no fue una declaración única y tajante. Fue un proceso prolongado que se extendió entre 1931 y 1935. En este ensayo se describe el camino gradual seguido por la moratoria sobre la deuda externa, y se reportan las razones expuestas en las declaraciones formales de moratoria sobre dicha deuda. El documento otorga atención especial a la perspectiva que los inversionistas tenían acerca de Colombia, reflejada en la evolución de los precios externos de los bonos colombianos, en comparación con los precios de los títulos colocados por otros importantes deudores de América latina.
