Las disparidades de género en la tasa de irregularidad del crédito como fenómeno estructural: Evidencia para la Argentina

Abstract

La literatura que brinda explicaciones estructurales acerca de las diferencias de conductas entre géneros y que contribuye a la comprensión de la menor morosidad atribuible a las mujeres abarca diversas áreas, como la sociología, la psicología, el derecho y la economía. Si bien aún existen vacíos críticos en esta área de conocimiento, la internalización de los roles de género como estándares propios emerge como un factor común en las diversas explicaciones que brinda la literatura. El estudio indaga si la irrupción del Covid-19 alteró el desempeño habitual del riesgo de morosidad en el pago de las obligaciones financieras por género en la Argentina. A partir del uso de datos de registro únicos, el trabajo aporta nueva evidencia empírica acerca del carácter estructural del comportamiento divergente por género en el cumplimiento de las obligaciones financieras.
