New economic ideas and economic policy reform: an analysis of the swedish experience in the 30,s

Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the contribution of the economic ideas of the Stockholm School and others economic and political factors to policy of reform implemented by the social -democratic government in Sweden during the 1930's. To achive this aim a theoretical tool (with some degree of generality) is contructed as an aid for the analysis of the way in wich these factors came to influence the economic policy process. The paper closes with some general conclusions concerning the new economic ideas and the Swedish experience.
