Uso de tiempo, salud mental y gasto del hogar: los efectos de ser cuidador en la movilidad social en Nuevo León

Abstract

A partir de la Encuesta ESRU de Movilidad Social en México 2023 (ESRU-EMOVI 2023) y su sobremuestra para Nuevo León, se analizan los efectos de ser cuidador en los resultados de vida en dicha entidad federativa y cómo estos han cambiado entre generaciones. En particular, se pone el foco en el logro escolar, la participación laboral, el uso de tiempo, el estado de salud mental y el gasto de los hogares. Los hallazgos muestran que el tipo de cuidador tiene implicaciones significativas para la salud mental, sobre todo para adultos mayores. En general, los cuidadores presentan logros educativos menores y niveles más bajos de participación en el mercado laboral, con un impacto particularmente marcado en las mujeres.
