Capacidades económicas. Un análisis ontológico

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se analizará enfoque de las “capacidades” propuesto por Nancy Cartwright para el caso de la economía. Se mostrará que, debido a que la conexión causal entre variables económicas es ejercida por la acción humana, no podemos afirmar que una entidad o variable posea una capacidad específica, sino más bien un conjunto de capacidades potenciales. Esto tiene implicancias en la interpretación de los modelos económicos: en lugar de ser entendidos como representaciones de aislamientos teoréticos, los modelos nos pueden servir para conocer aquellos condicionamientos necesarios para alcanzar un determinado resultado.
