Possible Influence of Importation of Hawaiian Sugar on Beet-Sugar Production in the United States

Abstract

A statement of the production, importation, and consumption of sugar in the United States, with a discussion of the possibilities and limitation of sugar production in Hawaii and the effect of the free importation of Hawaiian sugar upon the sugar-beet industry of the United States. It is maintained that Hawaiian sugar is not likely to compete seriously with the sugar-beet industry in the United States.
