Status Quo und Potentiale des ökologischen Heil-, Kosmetik- und Gewürzpflanzenanbaus in Baden-Württemberg. Studienbericht & Supplement

Abstract

Veränderte gesellschaftliche Anforderungen, wie dem Wunsch nach mehr Biodiversität und einer nachhaltigeren Nutzung der Agrarfläche, bieten auf den ersten Blick für den ökologischen Anbau von Heil-, Kosmetik- und Gewürzpflanzenanbau neue Möglichkeiten. Das seit Jahren gestiegene Gesundheitsbewusstsein und Interesse der Verbraucher*innen an ökologischen Lebensmitteln, Naturkosmetik sowie an alternativen Heilverfahren wie der Phytotherapie, lassen neue Produktentwicklungen und Marktwachstum erwarten, sowohl bei Produktion der Rohstoffe, als auch in deren Verarbeitung und dem Zugang zu neuen Märkten und Wertschöpfungsketten. In wieweit solche Potentiale für Landwirt*innen und Unternehmen in Baden-Württemberg tatsächlich nutzbar sind, lässt sich indes nur schwer beurteilen. Zum einen sind nur wenige Daten und Studien zum Status Quo des Heil- und Gewürzpflanzenanbaus in Baden-Württemberg veröffentlicht. Zum anderen ist unklar, welche Hemmnisse für die Weiterentwicklung des ökologischen Heil- und Gewürzpflanzensektors bestehen. Dies ist Hintergrund für eine aktuelle Bestandsaufnahme in diesem Bericht, die im Auftrag des Ministeriums für Ländlichen Raum und Verbraucherschutz (MLR) Baden-Württemberg vom Fachgebiet Agrarmärkte der Universität Hohenheim von Juni 2021 bis Februar 2022 bearbeitet wurde. Kooperationspartner sind das Zentrum für Ökolandbau, Universität Hohenheim, und das Netzwerk Kräuter Baden-Württemberg e.V.
