Abstract

Excerpt from the report: This publication outlines some factors that should be considered and some estimates that should be made in order to determine the probable economic effects of adopting a specific plan of erosion control. Measurement of the effects of changes in farm organization designed to control erosion and maintain soil resources ordinarily involves the making of estimates that will indicate the effect of the new plan on (1) crop production, (2) the livestock adjustments that may be necessary to make the best use of the feed available, (3) the effect on the use of labor, (4) the capital loss resulting from the destruction of soil assets through erosion, (5) the capital outlay, and (6) the effect on annual net income.
