Abstract

Revised farm-retail spreads for a "market basket" of domestic farm-originated foods and for 46 individual foods are presented. Movements in these statistics over time are analyzed; data and techniques employed in their development are described and evaluated. Current data for tables appear in the quarterly "Marketing and Transportation Situation," Economic Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.
