Mise en œuvre des politiques régionales sur les pesticides en Afrique de l'Ouest : Rapport de l’étude de Cas au Sénégal

Abstract

L'université d'Etat du Michigan (MSU), dans le cadre du Programme de Sécurité Alimentaire (FSP) en Afrique de l’Ouest, à la demande de l’USAID et de la CEDEAO, entreprend des études de cas sur le profil du marché des pesticides et la mise en œuvre des politiques agricoles dans un certain nombre de pays de la CEDEAO (Mali, Sénégal, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Guinée, Gambie et Nigéria). Cet article examine les marchés et la réglementation des pesticides au Sénégal. En tant que membre fondateur du CILSS, le Sénégal s'est engagé à mettre en place des institutions réglementaires nationales nécessaires à la mise en œuvre de la réglementation commune sur les pesticides en vigueur dans toute la région du CILSS. Cette étude explore les progrès accomplis jusqu'à présent dans la mise en œuvre au niveau national par le Sénégal de ces politiques régionales sur les pesticides convenues d'un commun accord. Dans le cadre d'une série d'études comparatives de cas de sept pays, ce travail vise collectivement à explorer les raisons des taux inégaux de mise en œuvre par les pays des politiques régionales en matière d'intrants agricoles.
