De la Producción Agroalimentaria al Afianzamiento de Redes de Cooperación Solidaria en una Comunidad de México

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo abordar la discusión de uno de los enfoques alternativos que ha cobrado interés y vigencia entre los círculos de investigación vinculados al desarrollo rural, el de los Sistemas Agroalimentarios Locales (SIAL), que conjunta diversos planteamientos teóricos previos, como el de las economías derivadas de la localización de la industria, los Distritos Industriales (DI) o clusters, los Sistemas Productivos Locales (SPL) y la Agroindustria Rural (AIR), y que con el transcurso de los años, se le han ido agregando otros factores y conceptos que enriquecen el análisis del enfoque, entre los que destacan: la importancia cultural, la visión del territorio como espacio de proximidades, la activación de recursos específicos, la acción colectiva, la gobernanza territorial, la conformación de capital social y el desempeño institucional, entre otros. De lo anterior, en este trabajo, se abordan tres características de los SIAL: el papel del territorio o reconfiguración territorial, la acción colectiva y la conformación de capital social. Tomando en cuenta estas concepciones teóricas, en este documento, se intentará contrastarlas con el funcionamiento y desempeño de las redes sociales territoriales e institucionales en un municipio de México, denominado Tlalnepantla, que se encuentra ubicado en el estado de Morelos. En este municipio se ha desarrollado un cambio agro alimentario en el transcurso de 20 años, basado fundamentalmente en la producción de nopal (Opuntia o Nopalea) y en la conformación de sociedades de producción rural que les ha permitido ingresar a mercados internacionales y consolidarse como uno de los sitios de producción de nopal más importante de la zona centro del país. Mediante la realización del trabajo de campo se ha permitido recabar elementos que muestran que el reordenamiento productivo, basado en la producción de nopal, y en los cambios del paisaje, existen elementos muy importantes que enmarcan a la acción colectiva como el elemento clave que les ha permitido, a los pobladores de la comunidad, defender su identidad y extender su mercado.
