Patrones geográficos del empleo formal en CABA: evidencia de una nueva base de datos

Abstract

Los determinantes de la distribución geográfica del empleo, tales como la segregación residencial por ingresos y el costo de la movilidad dentro de las ciudades, son temas poco estudiados en países latinoamericanos. Utilizando una nueva base de datos que incluye la georreferenciación del domicilio y del lugar de trabajo de los empleados formales, exploramos cómo los costos de transporte determinan la distribución espacial de los trabajadores en la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. Estimamos un modelo que vincula el ingreso con la distancia al trabajo, incluyendo efectos espaciales. Nuestros resultados muestran una fuerte segregación residencial por ingreso y una relación negativa entre los costos de transporte y las remuneraciones.
