Kommunale Familienzeitpolitik - Ansätze zeitgerechter Planung für Familien am Beispiel der Stadt Aachen

Abstract

Der Beitrag begründet unter Rückgriff auf den aktuellen familienwissenschaftlichen und familienpolitischen Diskurs um das Thema Familie und Zeit das Handlungsfeld kommunaler Familienzeitpolitik: Ausgehend von empirischen Ergebnissen zu Zeitdruck und Zeitkonflikten wird die zentrale Kategorie "Familie" ausdifferenziert und es wird beleuchtet, warum die Ressource Zeit so zentral ist für Familien und worin die tieferen Ursachen familialer Zeitnot liegen. Der Artikel beschreibt Ansätze der lokalen Familienzeitpolitik unter besondere Berücksichtigung des Bereichs der Stadtplanung. Es wird am Beispiel der Stadt Aachen dargestellt, wie die Entwicklung über das Leitbild der familienfreundlichen Stadt zur kommunalen Familienzeitpolitik erfolgte und wie diese zum integralen Bestandteil u. a. der Aachener Stadtplanung avancierte. Hierzu werden fünf konkrete Beispiele näher erläutert. Der abschließende Ausblick skizziert Handlungsherausforderungen vor Ort sowie bezogen auf das Handlungsfeld Familienzeitpolitik insgesamt.
