Interregionale Kooperation im Rhein-Alpen Korridor

Abstract

Die grenzübergreifende, transnationale Regionalentwicklung im EU-Transportkorridor "Rhein-Alpen" stellt eine ständige Herausforderung dar. Auf Initiative des Verbands Region Rhein-Neckar (VRRN) wurde daher im Rahmen eines EU-geförderten Projekts mit 18 Partnern aus fünf Staaten entlang des Korridors diese ehrgeizige Aufgabe angegangen. Unter dem Akronym "CODE24" wurde das INTERREG-finanzierte Projekt realisiert und eine gemeinsame Strategie für die Entwicklung des Rhein-Alpen-Korridors aus Sicht der regional-kommunalen Ebene erarbeitet. Zur Fortsetzung dieser erfolgreichen Kooperation über die Dauer der Projektlaufzeit hinaus wurde eine unbefristete, neue Organisationsstruktur gegründet: Die "Interregional Alliance for the Rhine-Alpine Corridor". Als Rechtsform wurde ein "Europäischer Verbund für territoriale Zusammenarbeit" (EVTZ) gewählt. Mit seiner Gründung, die am 24. April 2015 in Mannheim erfolgte, wurde der erste EVTZ mit Sitz in Deutschland mit inzwischen 19 Mitgliedern etabliert.
