Abstract

Im Zuge der Globalisierung und der sich in diesem Zusammenhang verstärkenden Sehnsucht nach dem Lokalen gelangen die Konstruktionen von Heimat und regionaler Identität verstärkt in den Fokus wissenschaftlichen Interesses. Während für den Terminus der regionalen Identität fachstrategisch geschickt die Räumlichkeit von Identitätsbildungen konstitutiv ist, entstammt das Wort "Heimat" einem lebensweltlichen Kontext und bezieht sich stärker auf soziale Bindungen. Da beide Konzepte die Exklusion des Fremden implizieren, sind sie vor dem Kontext globaler Migration und kultureller Hybridisierung nicht unreflektiert positiv zu werten.
