Proaktive Anpassung der Wasserinfrastruktur an die Auswirkungen des Klimawandels in der Emscher-Lippe-Region

Abstract

Seit Kurzem gewinnen Ansätze zur Anpassung an den Klimawandel als komplementäre Strategie zum Klimaschutz immer stärker an Bedeutung. Ein wichtiges Handlungsfeld stellt dabei die Bewirtschaftung der Ressource Wasser dar. Das vom Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) geförderte Forschungs- und Netzwerkprojekt dynaklim untersucht, mit welchen Auswirkungen des Klimawandels auf Gewässer und Wasserinfrastruktur in der polyzentral geprägten Emscher-Lippe-Region (Ruhrgebiet) zu rechnen ist. Hierauf aufbauend werden Strategien entwickelt, die eine vorausschauende Anpassung möglich machen sollen. Nötig wird dabei ein neuer Umgang im Bereich des Wassermanagements, der einem Paradigmenwechsel gleichkommt und auf regionaler Ebene relevante Akteure zur gemeinsamen Problembewältigung befähigt. Der Planung eröffnet sich das Potenzial, Beteiligung und Ausgleich unterschiedlicher Stakeholder und Interessen zu unterstützen sowie zur Umsetzung von nachhaltigen Lösungswegen beizutragen. Sie kann so helfen, Chancen zur regionalen Erneuerung wahrzunehmen.
