Raumentwicklung in Metropolregionen: Anforderungen und Akteure

Abstract

Metropolregionen dürfen nicht nur für Wirtschaftsförderung und Standortmarketing zuständig sein, sondern sollten sich auch an normativen Zielen der Raumentwicklung orientieren: Eine integrative und nachhaltige Entwicklung in Metropolregionen bedarf einer Verbindung von ordnender Sicherungsplanung und progressiver Entwicklungsplanung. Um die Sicherung der Daseinsgrundlagen nicht allein ökonomisch geprägten Kräften preiszugeben, müssen die Potenziale der räumlichen Planung in Metropolregionen weiter gestärkt werden. Nur so können die Bedingungen für eine ausgewogene räumliche Entwicklung in der Balance von wirtschaftlicher Wettbewerbsfähigkeit und ökologischsozialer Daseinsvorsorge geschaffen werden.
