Abstract

The aim of this research manuscript is twofold. The first is to present to practitioners a relevant representation of Industry 5.0 (I5.0) that can be readily employed in the workplace. The second is to offer scholars a rigorous interdisciplinary effort that spans across multiple research levels in order to operationalize the concept of I5.0 into researchable constructs. The proposed antecedents for I5.0 are technological innovation, digital transformation, regulatory compliance, institutional support, skilled workforce, strategic partnerships and risk management. Whereas, the proposed consequences of I5.0 are economic growth, environmental sustainability, social impact, innovation and technological advancement, knowledge sharing and collaboration, global competitiveness and long-term value creation. Ultimately, the interaction between these seven consequences will, in turn, eventually lead to global prosperity for humanity. This study does claim to be comprehensive, yet it sets the foundation for the collaborative efforts of future research to achieve the pursued goal.
