Abstract

In the digital era, artificial intelligence (AI) has become integral to our daily lives, offering numerous benefits while also presenting significant ethical dilemmas, particularly concerning data privacy. This study introduces the concept of corporate digital responsibility (CDR), defined as the shared values and norms guiding an organization’s operations with digital technology and data. CDR aims to enhance the relationship between firms and society. Due to its newness, CDR remains an unclear concept, lacking standardized definitions, frameworks, and comprehensive understanding of its antecedents and outcomes. This research explores theoretically how social and organizational contexts influence CDR culture, potentially enhancing brand equity and consumer trust. The study also seeks to highlight the roles of organizations and technology developers in shaping CDR, addressing the challenges of privacy and digital responsibility in AI-driven environments.
