Abstract

The successful development of an economy is characterized by numerous indicators. Among the key macroeconomic metrics of a nation’s progress, many scholars and researchers highlight the role of small business development, which drives innovation and enhances the competitiveness of a country’s economy. Small entrepreneurship holds a unique position in reducing unemployment. Variations in the taxation of small businesses enable a steady inflow of tax revenues, contributing to the state budget. Government support in various forms plays a crucial role in fostering small business growth, as reflected in legislative acts and national projects in Russia. The sustainable development of small businesses depends on the mentioned factors and the ability of entrepreneurs to assess the effectiveness of their activities and, based on this analysis, make informed managerial decisions. This research provides an overview of the state of small business development based on statistical data, substantiates the impact of small businesses on the national economy, and examines various methodological approaches to the comprehensive assessment of the efficiency of small business operations. Special attention is given to developing tools for a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of small business growth to ensure its resilience to changes in the country’s economic processes.
