Abstract

The cooperative movement, leveraging new tools for conducting business across various industries, holds significant potential for developing new directions and increasing profitability. Amid the current sanctions pressure, the Government of the Russian Federation places particular emphasis on the activities of cooperatives, especially agricultural associations. This research examines how cooperatives can reduce their costs and achieve stability in their operations. Moreover, the research explores promising avenues to achieve these goals. Notably, sectors such as information technology, insurance, and tourism, which are currently in demand for the national economy, have been identified as promising. The challenge lies in determining which areas of the country’s economy can become promising for developing the cooperative movement. This research employs systemic analysis of scientific literature to review and synthesize existing data on the topic. The analysis of promising economic directions for developing the cooperative movement in Russia and globally will be valuable for students and postgraduate researchers in writing coursework and thesis projects, as well as in preparing oral presentations and written reports. This research aims to provide a deeper understanding of the sectors in which cooperatives can grow, become more competitive, and achieve greater profitability.
