Abstract

The sustainable development of rural areas in the Krasnodar Territory, as a vital socio-economic, environmental, and cultural subsystem of society, stands as a cornerstone of agricultural policy, significantly influencing the stability of the Russian economy and the well-being of its citizens. Implementing national projects aimed at strategic development has opened new opportunities for the growth of consumer cooperatives in rural regions and demands coordinated efforts from federal, regional, and local authorities. However, the development of consumer cooperatives in the region faces certain challenges, including the need to adopt innovative approaches to meet the evolving demands of consumers. Consumer cooperation is a form of economic activity designed to fulfill the needs of its members through collective effort. Its advancement is closely linked to the execution of national projects that lay the foundation for the region’s economic development. The Southern Federal District of the Russian Federation has significant potential for consumer cooperation growth, given its abundant natural resources, developed infrastructure, and advantageous geographic location. The geographic distribution of cooperative movements across the regions should contribute to enhancing production and economic efficiency in the agricultural sector and transforming the economic model of resource management.
