Abstract

This research outlines the primary directions of procurement activities in consumer cooperatives within the realm of regional food resource formation. Particularly, it examines the procurement operations of cooperative enterprises across the regions, revealing the distinctive features of their functioning. The authors also analyzed the stability of the production and consumption sectors of food products. Special attention is given to the factors influencing the profitability and yield of consumer cooperative enterprises. The role of households and farmers in marketing agricultural products through consumer cooperatives and their competition with large holdings is identified. It is determined how households and farmers can impact the formation of regional food resources and what role they play in ensuring food security. The prospects for deepening the partnership between agricultural producers and consumer cooperatives in the context of food security are articulated. Possible directions for collaboration are considered; mechanisms for strengthening the partnership between agricultural producers and cooperatives are proposed. The resources and potential opportunities of small agribusiness forms in the regions are revealed, especially as the relationship between agricultural producers and consumer cooperative purchasing centers deepens. Finally, proposals are made to increase the supply of food products to the cooperative retail network in rural settlements, which will contribute to the development of regional agriculture and enhance the level of food provision for the population.
