Abstract

Commercial fishing currently faces an uncertain future in the context of the Fifth Industrial Revolution, influenced by catch volumes and global market dynamics of recent years. To advance the fishing industry and ensure a competitive entry into Industry 5.0, advanced technologies have been implemented since 2021 to monitor fish migration, automate fishing processes, and analyze data on fish resources. Specialized industrial innovation complexes are being developed to increase production volumes, ensure the quality control of aquatic bioresources, and maintain a balance in fish stocks for the deep processing of raw fish materials. The primary focus of fish harvesting is on salmon species, which are caught during the summer months, from late May to late September, when salmon enter the rivers of the Kamchatka Territory. This research provides a brief historical overview of the origins and development of the fishing industry in Kamchatka. It includes an assessment of salmon catch volumes in the Kamchatka Territory from 2021 to 2024, as well as catch data for Pacific salmon in the regional sectors of the Russian Far East for 2023 and 2024 (as of September 9). The analysis of the structure and growth (or decline) rates of Pacific salmon catches in the industrial zones, and subzones of the Kamchatka Territory for 2023 and 2024 has also been conducted.
