Abstract

This study bridges the domains of low-carbon transition and green finance, exploring strategic investment opportunities within China’s power systems against the backdrop of global climate change. As the largest carbon emitter globally, China’s commitments to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060 are pivotal to international sustainability efforts. By employing secondary data analysis and insights from green finance and fintech innovations, the research highlights investment prospects in renewable energy infrastructure, energy storage technologies, and electric vehicle ecosystems. The modernization of power grids, coupled with fintech-enabled financial tools, emerges as a cornerstone for sustainable energy transitions. The study further evaluates the integration of green finance policies with advanced technologies to foster eco-friendly investments, reduce systemic financial risks, and support carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects. The findings emphasize the role of regulatory frameworks, policy incentives, and financial innovations in promoting environmentally sustainable energy systems. This research provides a roadmap for investors to align strategically with China’s low-carbon objectives, blending green finance principles with technological advancements to reshape the country’s power industry. The study contributes to the global dialogue on combating climate change by focusing on the intersection of finance, technology, and energy sustainability in China.
