Abstract

This study examines the critical role of green energy deployment in advancing energy security, enabling energy transition, and contributing to environmentally sustainable development goals (SDGs). Utilizing the stochastic impact model (STIRPAT), which considers population, affluence, and technology, the analysis explores the relationships between CO2 emissions, energy efficiency, the green energy index (GEI), and green finance in the top ten countries supporting green finance. Results indicate that green bonds are an effective tool for promoting green energy projects and achieving substantial CO2 reduction, though no short-term causal link is observed among these variables. To foster sustainable economic growth and address environmental challenges, governments are encouraged to implement long-term policies that support private sector involvement in green energy investments.
